Your first visit with Dentist Jill M. Nikas, DDS
Our goal is to provide exceptional dental care that goes above and beyond your expectations. Your first visit with us is one of the most important ones. At your initial appointment, you will be introduced to our practice through a comprehensive exam done by Dr. Nikas. This exam will also include appropriate digital x-rays and a discussion of your expectations, dental priorities, and past experiences and concerns you may have about your dental care.
Expect your first visit to take at least an hour. Dr. Nikas will ask a series of questions regarding your previous dental history as well to understand your dental expectations. This exam includes a thorough review of your mouth, head and neck area, including:
- Tooth exam and charting
- Oral cancer screening
- Periodontal (gum and bone) examination
- Digital radiographs (x-rays) if necessary
- Evaluation of occlusion (bite)
- Soft tissue exam of head and neck area
If you have recent x-rays and other dental records from a previous dentist, it would be helpful if you could get these for us in advance. Questions on transferring your records? We can help.
